Students in a school setting
About the foundation

Built from lived experience and a belief that education changes futures.

Our work began with seeing talented children struggle under burdens that should never decide whether they can learn.

History and mission

Garden of Knowledge was founded in 2025 with a simple and urgent purpose.

Across classrooms in Ghana, we witnessed children carrying extraordinary resilience while facing impossible choices: learning without basic materials, attending school hungry, or leaving school because fees were out of reach. The foundation was launched to respond directly to those realities and make sure poverty does not decide a child's educational future.

  • Expand access to quality education for children in underserved communities.
  • Provide practical school supplies and daily support that improve attendance.
  • Invite donors, educators, and advocates into long-term, meaningful partnership.
Founder

Harriet Lumula

Education has long been Harriet Lumula's passion and calling. Her own academic path was shaped by people who invested in her future, and that generosity became the model for how she serves others. For more than a decade, she has quietly helped students with tuition, school supplies, and meals while building relationships that honor each child's dignity.

She is currently pursuing a doctorate in the ILAC Department at the University of Oklahoma, where her research focuses on teacher training and leadership development in schools. Garden of Knowledge is an extension of that same commitment: building equitable opportunities for children to thrive.

Our foundation is powered by people who care deeply about children, education, and showing up with consistency.
